A Hiatus That Seems Like Forever

Taking A Break

About 14 months ago One Direction announced that they would go on a 17 month long hiatus from touring, and recording to have times to theirselves. Although the drama did continue well into the break.

Louis

Louis had most of the drama in the group. The baby gate continued well into the break. With his baby mama and her family constantly creating drama it was a huge deal for this fandom. The Jungwirth family is a dramatic bunch, that isn’t an opinion, if you have seen the things they have tweeted for attention you would be thinking the same. The other drama Louis had going on was with his girlfriend Danielle. Not much drama there but it was still painful for the fandom, because Louis and Harry were further from being together.

Harry

Overall, Harry is and has always been a ray of sunshine. Being out with Kendall is one of the things he has done over the break and they haven’t been very vocal about it which the fans like. Dunkirk is the biggest thing Harry has done all break. Dunkirk is a war movie airing in 2017 that Harry is a part of. He filmed it for most of the break. He finished about 4 months ago. The saddest thing to happen to Harry, was he had to chop all of his lushious hair.

How We Feel

Many people in the One Direction fandom are influenced by these two boys. So many people in this fandom ship Larry and dedicate their whole lives to them. Many say that the reason they are still a part of the One Direction fandom is because of Larry and the impact they have on their lives.

The Impact

Often, the boys of One Direction thank the fans for always being there and how much it means to them for our support, But, what they don’t realize, is that they mean so much more to us. Sure, we are the reason they are as big as they are, but they help so many people to get through hard times and end up on the other side.Especially Larry. So many people in this fandom are from the LGBTQ+ community and don’t have the support they deserve. So, they look to this love story they worship almost and find the support they need within it.

Harry

Harry Styles. He is the biggest reason the LGBTQ+ fans find comfort in this ship. Harry is the most supportive person. He supports and strongly believes that everyone should have the same chance to love, Because, Love is Love. As he has openly stated at many concerts, he believes, Love is Love, and that love should be celebrated in all forms. So many people look for him for inspiration. When they look at him, in a way, they feel safe.

The Stories That I Can’t Explain

The Tattoos

One of the many thing slurry shippers argue about, is that Louis and Harry have matching tattoos. For the longest time, and still up to today, this is how Louis and Harry can publicly express themselves. Though it is not confirmed it is extremely obvious.

Hi and Oops!

By far the most important tattoos of all times are these tattoos. As I have stated before the first words the boys said to each other was these. Harry said “Oops”and Louis soon after said “Hi”. The first things that the two said to each other are tattooed on themselves. Harry has the Hi tattoo and Louis has the Oops! tattoo. Harrys tattoo that reads, “Hi” is rumored to be written in Louis’ handwriting.

The Rose and The Dagger

“Louis got the dagger!” is a phrase one would often hear in the One Direction fandom. This is significant because of one reason. The aspect of the rose and the dagger being paired together is a symbol of the willingness to fight. So, when Harry Styles got the rose tattoo most people in the fandom hoped Louis would get the dagger just because of this symbolism between the two objects. When Louis eventually got The Dagger not soon after, the Fandom flipped out. Everyone repeating the now iconic phrase “Louis got the dagger.”

Location of the Tattoos

Many Larries believe that the location of the tattoos have some significance as well. It is rumored that if Louis and Harry were to hold hands their corresponding tattoos would link up to each other, creating the perfect finished picture.

So, you may be confused based on the title of this blog post, let me explain. Basically, a beard is when girl is dating a closeted gay gay to hide the fact that he is gay, and vice versa. And, man, have Louis and Harry had a lot of them.

Louis’ relationships

Louis has had many beards over the years but the biggest of them all is Eleanor Calder.

Eleanor

Eleanor was Louis’ first beard and his longest lasting one. She is a 24 year old fashion blogger from London, England. When Elounor, they’re ship name, started everyone flipped. They would send hate to Eleanor and harass her on her page. They were together for about 4 years and then sadly broke it off and went their separate ways.

There was rumors Louis was with other girls after this but nothing was confirmed, until Danielle came along.

Danielle

Danielle Campbell is a 21 year old actress, most commonly known in, Disney channel original movie, StarStruck as Jessica Olson, and TV series The Originals as Davina. Danielle and Louis are still together as we speak but are not very public about it, with only posting few pictures with each other.

Then came Brianna.

Brianna

This one is complicated so stay with me. Brianna Jungwirth is a 24 year old mother of one and Fashion blogger. Brianna and Louis has a one time thing with each other, and Brianna became pregnant. Louis, having grown up with out a father, stuck around to help raise the baby but isn’t with Brianna anymore, he is with Danielle. Freddie Reign Tomlinson was born January 21, 2016. This whole series of events is known as the BabyGate. For a while, fans thought the pregnancy was false and that it was a publicity stunt, but to their surprise it was not. Many of the fans now, completely adore Freddie.

Harry’s Relationships

Harry hasn’t had many relationships over the years but has had two big ones.

Taylor

Taylor Swift is a 26 year old Singer-Song Writer. Her and Harry Styles dated in late 2012. Haylor, their ship name, was not commonly adored. Most fans hated the idea of Harry and Taylor together. The biggest thing to happen between them is they shared a kiss when the ball dropped on New Years Eve, and Taylor wrote a song about Harry, but that isn’t a shocker. Harry wasn’t with anyone for a while until Kendall.

Kendall

Kendall Jenner is a 20 year old model and reality TV star. Being related to the Kardashians she is loved by many. In late 2013, Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner became a thing. They stayed below the radar for a little until pictures were leaked from Harrys mothers phone of their vacation on a Yacht, from earlier this year. News of these photos quickly spread across the Fandom since most people thought Hendall, their ship name, was done for.

Other than that Harry didn’t have many big relationships, there was many rumors but nothing confirmed like those two were.

To conclude, Harry and Louis have gone through a lot to stay hidden, and just deserve so show their true selfs no matter what others think.

The People Behind the Ship

How it Started

When talked to about Larry most fans are filled with joy, they find much pride and happiness in being a part of this huge epidemic. Junior Mackenzie Dell can relate to this feeling. Many Larry shippers have been part of this so called “family” since 2010, when One Direction formed. “I started shipping Larry 6 months to 1 year after I got into One Direction, so I would say late 2013.” said Dell. Many fans did not start shipping Larry right away they still are as big of shippers of the other fans who has been there since they started. When asked about Larry, Dell often rants on how much they mean to her and how much they largely affected her life. “They were what my life revolved around for the better part of three years, I based most of my life decisions on Larry.” Dell said.

Most fans tend to lean on creating their own fan art based on Larry. Whether it is photoshopping, drawing or other forms the fans find much joy in expressing themselves in this way. “I like to draw and when I go to doddle the first thing that pops into my mind is Larry, and that inspires me to put my feelings on the paper in the form of art.” Dell said.

The Joy of Larry

When the smallest things happen between Louis and Harry, the Larries freakout. The Larry shippers take whatever they can get when it comes to Larry. One of the most favored Larry Moments is a fan had them hold hands during a meet and greet. “Larry holding hands was the first really big moment in a while it is was as if it was restoring hope in all of us.” Dell said.

Another favorite moment of fans is the famous onstage hug. Many fans are obsessed with this moment because, “it was when One Directions hiatus was beginning and it was the last moment for a while, and it was huge for Larry.” Dell said.

Pretty much all of the Larry fans are also fans of One Direction, dedicating their lives to this band of boys. They are extremely happy when an album is dropped, and cry tears of joy when they find out they are going to a concert. “I got really excited and almost started jumping in joy when I found out.” Dell said, “I was really excited and usually something goes wrong when I’m excited but this time everything worked out. It seemed unreal.”

The X-Factor days: How it all Started

The First Moment

When it started, sparks flew. The first moment hart and Louis were ever spotted together was on this day, on the main stage of the X-Factor competition. The day was July 23, 2010. It started out as a sad, disappointing day for all 5 boys, but little did they know it would grow into something huge. Members, Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall, and Zayn, now known as ONE DIRECTION were voted of the X-Factor competition as individual acts. A few minutes after they were excused off the stage in tears, the 5 boys were called back. Back onto the stage where they had previously been rejected. Confused on what was happening they all lined up “on the stage, nervous as ever. Simon Cowell had made a very important decision that would change their lives forever. Cowell announced that they would be staying on the show, but as a group act. Out of pure excitement Louis Tomlinson jumped into younger boy, Harry Styles arms. This was known as the first seen Larry moment, and will forever live in every One Direction fans minds.

The Video Diaries

In the beginning of One Direction being formed, the 5 boys created a series that would be called the video diaries, while in boot camp for the X-Factor. Other artists competing also made these diaries, like Cher Lloyd, to keep their fans and voters updated. Many memorable moments happened between Louis and Harry during these times. While filming these moments, it allowed Larry to really grow and show their friendship and beginning of their complicated relationship. You can see in these videos that from the start Louis and Harry have got along very well, and continue to even thought they aren’t able to be with each other, and are kept apart. In these videos you can see the boys grow together and get closer, and if you really look into it theres many cute moments you may not have noticed before.

But, Why Larry?

Overall, these two points are a big factor in Larry’s bringing about. Without these prominent moments Larry Stylinson wouldn’t be the big thing it is today in the fandom. Maybe, it wouldn’t even being a thing at all.

The Beginning

Larry Stylinson, the love story of the ages, two boys that cannot be together but cannot be a apart.”Larry” a word everyone in the One Direction knows, and something almost everyone ships. Between Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, from One Direction, a big secret has been held. From their loyal fans, a secret kept between the band, the crew and management. A Secret held for 5 years and yet still not released. Management has done so many actions to keep them apart and make it seem as if they aren’t together, but there is heads of evidence that these two boys are in fact together. All this drama, started in a bathroom. That’s right, you heard me. A bathroom. The bathroom in the venue The X Factor was being held at the time. In the bathroom, it kinda just happened. They kinda just happened, in the bathroom it all started. Two words, Oops and Hi. Oops said my Harry, Hi said by Louis. The first word one another said to each other, tattooed onto their bodies. Hi tattooed on Harry’s arm and Oops tattooed on Louis’. The bathroom. The words. The thing that started it all. That started Larry.

Starting X-Factor

They started off as solo acts, both auditioning the same year. Harry being 16, Louis being 18. One day changed it all, March 25, 2010. This day brought Louis and Harry as close as can be. They were both voted off of the solo artists. But, in a split second, Judge Simon Cowell made a very important decision. The producers of the show called up Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne. As they stood in front of the panel of Judges. Cowell announced that these four boys would become a group, or as many would come to call it, a “Boy Band”. The start of One Direction. Overcome with excitement, older boy Louis Tomlinson jumped into Harry’s arms. Harry carried Louis in excitement jumping around. They barely knew each other, they had just had just had small encounters. But, they had such a connection they felt safe in each others arms. Literally.
